2-4-16 8th congressional district race

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Former Democratic state Rep. Penny Bernard Schaber has added her name to a growing list of possible candidates for Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.  Republican U.S. Rep. Reid Ribble’s unexpected announcement over the weekend that he won’t seek a fourth term has sparked a flood of interest in the district, which centers on Green Bay.  Schaber joins Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson in the field of Democrats publicly considering a bid. Outagamie County Democratic Party Chair Dottie LeClair says numerous others are talking about it.  On the Republican side, legislators actively pondering a bid include state Sen. Frank Lasee of De Pere, state Sen. Roger Roth of Appleton and state Reps. John Nygren of Marinette, David Steffen of Green Bay, John Macco of Ledgeview and Andre Jacque of De Pere.
