Two Fond du Lac residents will be running this spring to help raise money for multiple sclerosis research. Melissa Schmidt and Carly Schmitz are participating in the MS Run US…a cross country relay that starts in Los Angelas and ends in New York. For the second year in a row Melissa Schmidt will run the first leg starting April 10th at the Pacific Ocean. Schmidt says her aunt has been living with MS for most of her life. Carly Schmitz will run April 24th through May 4th starting in Nevada. The runners are trying to raise $10,000 and a fundraiser will be held Saturday at T and T Fitness on Highway B…a 24 hour row and bike-a-thon challenge. People can sign up for one hour time segments and the $20 registration fee with all of the proceeds going to the MS Run US.
