2-11-16 republicans propose law enforcement oversight committee

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Some Republican lawmakers want to create a law enforcement oversight committee with the power to review new surveillance technologies, use of military weapons and John Doe investigations. The legislative committee would have subpoena power and access to closed John Doe proceedings. Bill author Representative David Craig, a Republican from Big Bend, said in a public hearing Wednesday that police are dealing with a rapid progression of surveillance technologies such as drones.
