The Fond du Lac County executive says a UW-FDL student housing project is still on hold and won’t be ready for next school year. The project has already been delayed twice and county executive Al Buechel says the county is currently in negotiations with a Madison firm to own and maintain the facility. “We are talking to them. We had to forego the possibility of opening student housing this fall, we’re now looking at 2017,” Buechel told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program last week. Buechel says the firm has experience with student housing projects. The 84 bed facility would be located on the UW Fond du Lac campus adjacent to the physical education building.
