MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A conservative group best known for derailing an investigation into Gov. Scott Walker’s campaign is launching an ad urging people to vote for Ted Cruz in the April 5 primary. Club for Growth plans to run the ad statewide beginning Saturday. The club says the buy is worth about $1 million for television and digital outlets. The ad says voters should choose Cruz because only he can still accumulate enough delegates to stop billionaire businessman Donald Trump from winning the nomination. The ad says Ohio Gov. John Kasich can’t mathematically collect enough delegates. Club for Growth sued in 2014 to end a John Doe investigation into whether Walker’s 2012 recall campaign illegally coordinated with outside groups, including the club.
