3-31-16 marquette poll-u.s. senate race

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A new poll shows a close race shaping up in the U.S. Senate rematch between Ron Johnson and Russ Feingold.  The data from Marquette University released Wednesday indicates Feingold has support from 47 percent of registered voters, a slight edge over the incumbent Johnson, at 42 percent. About 6 percent of respondents were undecided.  The Marquette Law School Poll was conducted Thursday through Monday, sampling 1,405 registered voters interviewed by cellphone or landline. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.  The numbers indicate lots of room for the candidates to improve their standing before November.  A little more than a third of respondents said they hadn’t heard enough from Johnson to form an opinion. About a quarter said the same of Feingold.
