3-31-16 marquette poll-walker approval rating edges up

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A new poll shows that despite Gov. Scott Walker’s approval rating edging up steadily, his endorsement of Ted Cruz might not have much effect.  The data from Marquette University released Wednesday shows Walker’s approval at 43 percent, up from 37 percent last fall.  It also shows that among likely GOP primary voters, his approval rating is at 80 percent. And among that group the overwhelming majority supported Cruz, even before Walker’s endorsement Tuesday.  The Marquette Law School Poll was conducted Thursday through Monday, sampling 1,405 registered voters interviewed by phone. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points. The GOP-specific data was based on 471 respondents who said they’re certain to vote. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.8 percentage points.
