4-12-16 ripon man gets prison for oshkosh convenience store robbery

A Ripon man is going to prison time after robbing an Oshkosh convenience store.  Forty five year-old William M. Vessell was sentenced in Winnebago County Circuit Court to three years in prison and five years extended supervision after he was convicted of theft.  He was originally charged with armed robbery.  According to a criminal complaint, on January 3rd Vessell demanded money from the clerk at an Oshkosh Kwik Trip store.   Police say  Vessell put in hand in his coat pocket, acting as though he had a weapon.  Police say following the robbery Vessell  used the stolen money to buy cocaine.
