Investigators say a fire that destroyed a landmark Fond du Lac restaurant and tavern was arson. The February 24th fire destroyed the Wayside Bar on West Division Street. Investigators with the Fond du Lac Police Department, Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation/State Fire Marshal’s Office have determined the fire was intentionally set. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Lee Mikulec at (920)322-3726 or by calling the Wisconsin Arson Hotline at 800-362-3005. There is up to a $5,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist.
