FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Former House Speaker John Boehner says he has friends in both parties — but it’s clear that Ted Cruz isn’t among them. Boehner told students at Stanford University that Cruz is “Lucifer in the flesh” — and the most “miserable” person he’s ever worked with. The animosity between them dates back to the partial government shutdown that was triggered by Cruz and tea-party conservatives in the House. Cruz today is pointing out that Boehner describes Donald Trump as his “texting buddy.”
