4-29-16 ripon college political science professor says republican nomination is trump’s to lose

A Ripon College political science professor says after primary contests this week it looks like the Republican presidential nomination is Donald Trump’s to lose.  Ripon College political science professor Marty Farrell says Trump’s sweep of Tuesday’s contests now put him on pace to get the required number of delegates heading into the convention.  Farrell says the interesting phenomenon is that voter turnout this week was down considerably compared to the Wisconsin primary earlier this month.  “That may indicate that the anti-Trump people have given up,”  Farrell told WFDL news.  “…they’re reconciled to the fact that there’s no real way of stopping him without destroying the party, with a fight at a convention, the unfairness of taking it away from someone who got millions more votes than anybody else.”
