2-22-17 record high temperatures in forecast

More record high temps are expected across Wisconsin Wednesday.   National Weather Service meteorologist Mark Gehring says temperatures throughout Wisconsin are more than double the average for this time of year.  “Temperatures for the Fond du Lac area will be upper 60s,”  Gehring told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  “Some areas in southern Wisconsin, maybe close to Fond du Lac, could get near 70.”   Gehring says its rare to see this many consecutive days of above normal temperatures.   Gehring says you have to go back to the dust bowl years to find a similar stretch of warm weather in Fond du Lac.  “I looked back into the records.  In the Fond du Lac area there was a stretch of warm weather for four days in a row.  February 19th through February 22nd, 1930 there were record highs each of those four days,”  Gehring said.  “The record highs ranged from 58 to 65 degrees.”
