9-26-17 truck technology-aaa study

A new AAA study finds that truck safety technology could prevent thousands of crashes each year.  State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmuscz says research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that advanced safety technologies have the potential to prevent more than  60,000 truck related crashes each year.  The study examined the safety benefits and costs of installing lane departure warning systems, automatic emergency braking, air disc brakes and video based onboard safety monitoring systems.  Meanwhile, a recent AAA survey found that six in ten adults feel less safe driving past large commercial  trucks than driving past passenger cars.
