10-20-17 fdl county board grants chicken farmer compensation

The Fond du Lac County board has granted an Eldorado chicken farmer’s request for compensation after a neighbor dog killed his chickens.  The resident was asking for $840 in compensation after  a dog killed 24 chickens and injured a pet duck.  “They weren’t just ordinary chickens, they were show chickens of various exotic breeds,”  county board chairman Marty Farrell told WFDL news.   Farrell says money to pay the farmer will come out of a segregated fund established through dog license fees.
