4-26-18 jane doe body to be exhumed

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s investigators say they are hopeful new forensic technology will help them solve a cold case murder.  The remains of Jane Doe are being exumed Thursday from a Waupun cemetery  with hopes new forensic technology will be able to determine who she was.  Sheriff’s Lieutenant of Detectives Cameron McGee says chemical isotope analysis of the bones could provide historical data that could lead investigators to geographic regions where Jane Doe may have lived.  “There’s a variety of scenarios and possibilities.  Is it a human trafficking incident or a runaway?  That’s a likely scenario,”  McGee told WFDL news.  Her  remains were discovered by deer hunters in a shallow creek in the southern part of Fond du Lac County on November 23, 2008.   Jane Doe’s DNA is entered into the National DNA database and her dental  records are also on file.   McGee says someone knows who she is and what happened to her.
