2-22-19 nfdl school superintendent says its time to put a moratorium on expanding school vouchers

The North Fond du Lac School superintendent says its time to put the brakes on expansion of the state’s private school voucher program.  Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is being pragmatic in not seeking to eliminate or phase out taxpayer funded school vouchers in his first state budget proposal.  “I think it would be irresponsible to say we no longer have vouchers.  I think the best idea would be to have a moratorium, stop it where its at, take a collective deep breath, and then in the next few years really figure out if its really good for our state,”  Sadoff told WFDL news.  At the same time, Sadoff says he agrees with governor Evers that information should be included on property tax bills how much each taxpayer is spending on vouchers for private school students living in their school district.
