3-21-19 flood clean up-the latest

Fond du Lac County Emergency Management continues to tally the damage caused  by last week’s flooding.   Emergency management director Bobbie Hicken says while there was some  damage to infrastructure, most of the damage was to homes.  She says  she’s unsure if there will be federal disaster assistance available.  A week later, Hicken says there are still displaced  residents.  She says Alliant Energy has not been able to restore gas and electricity to everyone.  “The gas has not been connected to everyone and I know that there are some furnaces and water heaters that are destroyed,”  Hicken told WFDL news.    Meanwhile,  Team Rubicon disaster response volunteers will be going door to door starting today in some of the hardest hit areas of the city.  They have gray shirts that identify themselves as Team Rubicon and are in Fond du Lac to support the needs of the community in cooperation with the the city, county and United Way.
