Fond du Lac city crews will be removing the brick pavers located in the crosswalks on Johnson Street west of Main Street starting the week of May 20th. City crews will also be performing other maintenance in the work zones along with a contractor performing repairs on the Johnson Street Bridge. Starting early on Monday, May 20 th , Johnson Street between Hickory Street and Main Street and the Johnson Street Bridge will be closed to through traffic. Traffic at the cross street intersections for north and south streets will be maintained. Business patrons in this corridor will be able to access businesses through adjacent streets. Weather permitting, Johnson Street may reopen between Hickory Street and Main Street to regular traffic for the Memorial Day Weekend. Also starting Monday, May 20 th , traffic lane restrictions will be in place on Johnson Street from Peters Avenue to Hickory Street. During this phase of the project traffic control will be set up to allow two way traffic on Johnson Street. Two way traffic will be set up in the eastbound lanes and once the crosswalks are complete, two way traffic will switch to westbound lanes. The lane restrictions between Peters Avenue and Hickory Street are planned to be in place until Friday, June 7 th . A signed detour will be place for traffic on Johnson Street. The detour in place will be signed Hwy 23, to Hwy 41, to Hwy 151.
