6-18 thiesfeldt says state budget is good for 52nd assembly district

Republican state representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt says the Republicans on  the Jt. Finance committee listened to Wisconsin residents in crafting a state budget that was forwarded to the full legislature.  Theisfeldt says the budget will benefit  52nd Assembly District.  “Its good for roads in the Fond du Lac area where where we sometimes feel like we’ve been underserved by the Department of Transportation.  There’s significant help in here for Corrections Officers, which is a very big industry in the Fond du Lac area.  At the end of the day there’s also almost $500 million in tax cuts,”  Thiesfeldt told WFDL news.  Thiesfeldt says the Republican education plan is more realistic that what governor Evers proposed.  “The governor’s initial budget, pretty much nobody looked at that as a serious budget,”  Thiesfeldt said.  “These superintendents knew that stuff was going to be scaled back.  They told me there was stuff in there that they weren’t even asking for.”   Thiesfeldt says he is concerned the Democratic  governor  may veto the budget.  “I think its entirely a possibility, and I really hope that doesn’t happen,”  Thiesfeldt said.  “I don’t think that would be good for the legislature, I don’t think that would be good for the people, I don’t think that would be good for the governor.”
