Two Fond du Lac men are in custody following a high speed chase. Shortly before 2:30am Saturday a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that was involved in a prior pursuit on Scott St. at Peters Ave. in Fond du Lac. The vehicle continued to travel at a high speed after the Fond du Lac County deputy attempted the stop, reaching speeds of 87 mph. The vehicle continued for approximately 3.1 miles before it came to a stop on Pioneer Rd. near Melody Ln . The driver and passenger were taken into custody without incident. The driver was identified as a 19-year-old male from Fond du Lac. The passenger was identified as a 20-year-old male from Fond du Lac. The driver was cited for operating while under the influence, operating with a suspended driver license, suspended registration, fail to stop at a stop sign, and is being held on eluding charges. The passenger was cited for underage drinking and released. Also assisting in the pursuit were the North Fond du Lac Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol.
