2-20-20 assembly democratic leader predicts veto of republican tax cut plan

The assembly Democratic leader says he anticipates the governor will veto a Republican tax cut plan.   Republicans quickly moved the $250 million dollar income tax cut package through this week.  Assembly minority leader Gordon Hintz of Oshkosh says Democratic Governor Tony Evers’ plan to bolster funding for education would also reduce property taxes.  “Governor Evers is committed to his plan.  The Republicans kind of threw something together six days before the end of session,”  Hintz told WFDL news.  “If there is anything that is going to happen it’s going to at least involve a compromise  otherwise I would say this is a political exercise that ends in a veto.”
