The Fond du Lac city council is expected to officially approve a new Downtown Exploratory Committee at their meeting next week. The council selected the 17 member committee and two alternates during a Committee of the Whole meeting Thursday evening. Downtown business representatives on the committee include Sam Meyer, Sarah Cujak and Joseph Braun. Other committee members include Sarah Van Buren, Amanda Hatch, Karri Klemm, Phil Twohig, Jason Bucholtz and Kari Koenigs. Sarah Spang with the FCEDC and Sadie Parafiniuk with the Fond du lac Downtown Partnership are also on the committee. The committee is charged with answering the question “How can our downtown be better?” The committee will meet on a regular basis and report back to the city council in December.
