The chairman of the Fond du Lac County Republican party has officially launched his campaign.  Dan Feyen announced last fall he was running for the 18th District state senate seat and he officially kicked off his campaign during a gathering of supporters Tuesday night at the Whispering Springs Golf Club in Fond du Lac.  “I’ve been out there doing a lot of town meetings, meeting with business owners, farmers, talking to voters,”  Feyen said.  “Now I’m going to be getting out there more.  We got to start kicking this thing into high gear.”  Feyen has been chairman of the Fond du Lac County Republican party since 2007 and the 6th District party since 2010.  Feyen says if he is elected he will bring  conservative values to Madison to work on closing the skills gap by supporting the educational system at all levels.   Feyen says another priority is to make sure Wisconsin’s infrastructure needs are met.  Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris announced in September that he is running for the seat on the Democratic ticket.  Oshkosh businessman Mark Elliot recently announced that he plans to run as a Republican.  Republican state senator Rick Gudex is not running for re-election.
