5-13-16 gas station robbery sentence-sheriff’s office react

A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s detective says an armed robbery last summer is an example of why a convenience store clerk should never resist or confront the robber.    Last summer the Highway 151 Mobile gas station clerk tried to stop the thieves after his store was robbed.  One of the masked men pointed an assault rifle at the clerk…but fortunately no shots were fired.  Sheriff’s Lieutenant of Detectives, Cameron McGee, says the 15 year prison sentence and 20 years of extended supervision was appropriate given the circumstances.  “This isn’t the first time this gentleman has been in trouble, it seems to be a pattern of behavior for him and the judge picked this as an appropriate sentence to protect the public.”
