6-23-20 fdl county public health department safe restart plan

In response to the lifting of the state’s Safer at Home order last month, the Fond du Lac County Health Department has prepared it’s own Safe Restart plan.   Public Health Officer Kim Mueller tells WFDL news the plan is a phased approach that encourages all residents and businesses to take responsibility, work together and support best practices to stay safe during the pandemic.    Effective Monday, June 22, 2020 Fond du Lac County will begin in Phase One of Fond du Lac County’s Safe  Restart Plan. The specifics of each phase are based on benchmark criteria. Benchmark criteria will be
monitored daily. If thresholds are maintained, the Fond du Lac County Health Department (FCHD) will provide
guidance to the community regarding moving to the next phase. FCHD will use a combination of state and
local level data while considering guidance from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services related to
restart of activities.   The “Fond du Lac County Safe Restart Guidelines and Recommendations Plan” is posted on the Fond du Lac  County website.    FCHD will update its benchmark criteria on the Fond du Lac County website every Monday at
2:00pm. This will inform the public of the metrics and thresholds in five key areas: positive cases, testing, care,
personal protective equipment and contact tracing.
Fond du Lac County Health Department encourages residents, organizations and businesses to consider this guidance thoroughly, and apply it where able. Organizations and businesses should feel empowered to enact the solution most appropriate to their needs and should consider what their actions will be if there is another wave of COVID-19 in our county. As the economy begins to reopen, businesses and organizations should proactively create Operations Plans and policies to ensure the safety of their employees and the public.
