The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says a Milwaukee woman is fortunate after accidentally shooting herself in the leg this week. The incident happened Monday afternoon at the Fondy Aqua Sports Park. Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says it’s concerning that the woman brought the loaded gun inside the park where there are kids. “Yes and it (aqua park) was very packed,” Tadych told WFDL news. “The good thing is that she was in the parking lot when the weapon did go off so there wasn’t anyone in the general vicinity when it accidentally discharged.” Tadych says the gun accidentally discharged while the woman was drying it off in the parking lot after it got wet. He says the bullet went through the woman’s leg. The woman faces charges of recklessly endangering safety and carrying a concealed weapon. The woman says she forgot she had the weapon in her purse.
