8-18-20 nfdl school reopening plan

The North Fond du Lac School District is getting ready to proceed with a blended model when students return to school in a couple of weeks.  Superintendent Aaron Sadoff a number of parents have chosen to have their child learn online.   Sadoff says kindergarten through fifth grade there’s an average of 13-15 kids per grade level that will be learning online, and about 15 percent at the middle and high school level.   Responding to COVID-19 outbreaks in other school districts across the country where the school year has already started Sadoff says he’s not surprised.   “We’re going to have cases in our schools it’s not if it’s when,”  Sadoff told WFDL news.   “…and then how do we mitigate risk and how does that look like?”   In the end, Sadoff says it’s probably likely that the school year in Wisconsin will at some point go online.  “If I was a betting man, which I’m not, I’d say yes,” Sadoff said.  “Safety is the key thing and we’re trying to slow the spread.  We’re trying to do the best that we can.  A lot of it is going to deal with parents and adults monitoring themselves and staying home.  This is going to be difficult for some people.”
