9-23-20 absentee ballot ruling

The Fond du Lac County Clerk is not happy with a judge’s ruling extending the deadline for counting absentee ballots up to six days after the November 3 election.   The ruling means the outcome of the presidential race in Wisconsin might not be known for days after the polls close.  County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says she’s hoping there is not a delay in knowing the results.   Freiberg says Fond du Lac County poll workers will be putting absentee ballots through the machines on election day until they are all counted.  Freiberg says she thinks the ruling  “is ridiculous.”   She says it’s time for people to “take responsibility,  vote the ballots and return them in a timely manner.”
